Straight off the back of a rather brutal desert shoot I'm off to NYC to shoot a music video for the inimitable Young Man (Frenchkiss Records). It'll be my first 'studio video' and I'm excited and a bit nervous if I'm totally honest. And it's my first time shooting in New York. Though we're shooting in studio so no slick skylines here.
Major thanks to Producer/AD/Director Li Lu who is producing and AD'ing. Total production polyglot and fluent at that.
There's nothing really to hide behind when you're shooting a white cyc. Though we're going to try some VFX-y stuff as well -- playing with telekinesis.
And all on a very very tight budget (and not for the first or last time). In all we're going to try pull off some new tricks that I've never attempted. I feel like David Blaine. Sorry Chris Angel.
I started using Frameforge on the Twisted Metal shoot and have carried on with it for this shoot. DP Matt Workman is behind the lens and has put together a 3D model of our stage and blocking using Google Sketch. Just a bunch of geeks gettin' dirty.
